Selected feedback from written forms collected after sessions between April and May 2025.
"I had been putting off sorting out my retirement documents for almost two years. After the workshop I finally had a folder that made sense — labelled, organised, and with a checklist of what I still needed to find. The facilitator was patient and did not make me feel that my questions were basic."
"My husband and I attended the first session of the quarterly series together. The briefer was clear about what the session covered and what it did not — I appreciated that. We left knowing more about what the public scheme documents actually contain, and with a reference list we could go through at home at our own pace."
"The annual programme has been useful. Sujata came to our house for the first session which made it easier — we worked with the actual folders we had rather than describing them. Three check-ins done so far and the system is holding up well. I wish the quarterly check-ins were slightly longer, but otherwise I would recommend it to other households in a similar position."
"I came to the workshop on my own, mostly because I had accumulated a lot of documents over the years and had no real system. Three hours later I had a clear picture of what I had, what was missing, and exactly where to look for each category. The handout with the official references was something I did not expect but turned out to be the most useful part."
"Wei Jian walked through the contribution statement section in a way that I finally understood after years of receiving these documents and putting them aside. He was always clear that he was explaining what the document format generally contains — not advising on our situation specifically. That kind of honesty matters to me."
"My sister suggested the workshop after completing it herself. I was sceptical that three hours would be enough time, but it was well structured. I think what I valued most was leaving with a physical folder I had assembled during the session, not just a plan to do it later. The pace suited me well — nothing was rushed."
Longer Stories
Three examples of how different households have used Pensora's offerings. Details have been lightly adjusted to protect privacy.
The starting point
A retired couple from Damansara had accumulated paperwork from two careers across three decades. They had folders but no consistent system — important documents were scattered across four separate locations in the house, and neither could say with confidence what they had and what they were missing.
What happened in the session
They came to the three-hour workshop with a bag of unsorted documents. The facilitator worked through a standard checklist with them, they labelled folders together, and by the end of the session they had a single folder set covering both individuals, with a written note of what was still missing from each category.
What they left with
A working folder system, a completed checklist, and a reading list of official publications covering three specific areas they wanted to understand better. They followed up three months later to say the system was still in use and they had located two documents they had not been able to find for years.
The starting point
A man from Klang who retired after 32 years in logistics enrolled in the briefing series after receiving his annual EPF statement and finding he could not confidently explain the numbers to his wife. He described wanting to understand what the documents meant in general terms, without having to rely on others to interpret them.
What happened across the year
He attended all four sessions across the year with his wife. Each session built on the last. After the second session, on reading contribution statements, he wrote to us saying he had re-read his last three annual statements and understood them far more clearly than before.
Outcome
By the end of the series both he and his wife described being comfortable reading their statements independently and knowing which official channels to contact with specific questions. He enrolled in the annual programme the following year.
The starting point
A widow in her late sixties from Taman Tun had been managing her household documents alone since her husband passed, and was concerned that if she were to fall ill, her adult children living overseas would not be able to locate essential documents. She wanted something her family could navigate without needing her to explain it.
What the programme did
Sujata visited for the initial session and designed a folder structure around her specific situation. Quarterly check-ins kept it current as new documents arrived. At the end of the year, a handover folder was prepared with a written summary of each section and instructions any family member could follow.
Outcome
She described the handover folder as something she had wanted to create for years but could never find the time to do properly. Both of her daughters have since seen the folder and knew how to use it. She renewed the programme for a second year.
